چکیده
Paths selection algorithms and rate adaptation objective functions are usually studied separately. In contrast, this paper evaluates some traffic engineering (TE) systems for software defined networking obtained by combining path techniques with average delay load balancing, the two most popular TE functions. Based on simulation results, best system suitable networks is a where paths calculated using an oblivious routing model its function. Thus, we propose RACKE+AD sets computed Räcke’s splitting function delay. This outperforms current state-of-the-art models, maximizes throughput, achieves better network resource utilization, minimizes The proposed outperformed SMORE SWAN 4.2% 9.6% respectively, achieving 27% utilization delivering 34% more 50% less latency compared both GÉANT network.

Multi-Tree Multicast Traffic Engineering for Software-Defined Networks
Although Software-Defined Networking (SDN) enables flexible network resource allocations for traffic engineering, current literature mostly focuses on unicast communications. Compared to traffic engineering for multiple unicast flows, multicast traffic engineering for multiple trees is very challenging not only because minimizing the bandwidth consumption of a single multicast tree by solving t...
متن کاملOnline Multicast Traffic Engineering for Software-Defined Networks
Previous research on SDN traffic engineering mostly focuses on static traffic, whereas dynamic traffic, though more practical, has drawn much less attention. Especially, online SDN multicast that supports IETF dynamic group membership (i.e., any user can join or leave at any time) has not been explored. Different from traditional shortest-path trees (SPT) and graph theoretical Steiner trees (ST...
متن کاملAdaptive Robust Traffic Engineering in Software Defined Networks
One of the key advantages of Software-Defined Networks (SDN) is the opportunity to integrate traffic engineering modules able to optimize network configuration according to traffic. Ideally, network should be dynamically reconfigured as traffic evolves, so as to achieve remarkable gains in the efficient use of resources with respect to traditional static approaches. Unfortunately, reconfigurati...
متن کاملDynamical Traffic Engineering in Software-Defined Network
Software-Defined Networks (SDN), as newly proposed network architecture, has a great potential in optimizing network traffics. In SDN, the control plane is separated from the data plane. With the help of the centralized controller, we can gather information of the network in real time. In this work, we propose a practical two-stage approach for traffic engineering that takes advantages of SDN. ...
متن کاملControl traffic balancing in software defined networks
To promise on-line and adaptive traffic engineering in software defined networks (SDNs), the control messages, e.g., the first packet of every new flow and network traffic statistics, should be forwarded from software defined switches to the controller(s) in a fast and robust manner. As many signaling events and control plane operations are required in SDNs, they could easily generate a signifi...
